Having worked in product design and marketing for close to a decade, the concept of gamification (the application of typical elements of game playing as a technique to encourage engagement with a product or service) was becoming too familiar to me. In some cases, gamification to drive user adoption and engagement was becoming a cliché. As a consumer I was also fatigued by the endless stream of points, rewards, and bonuses that never seemed to provide meaningful reward.
If you can’t beat them: join them. I created “Super Awards Bonus”, with the goal to create the ultimate twitter feed offering rewards, points, and bonuses for just about anything.
The bot offered a randomized quantity of points, coupons, likes, and points for online and offline engagement.
Some of the recommendations from the bot are dubious, but the bot is armed with a disclaimer.
