Senior UX Design

Calgary, Canada 2012 – 2014

Decoder is a startup agency that builds delightful apps for mobile devices and tablets. From the first meeting to the first download, we’ll work together to put something delightful in your customers’ hands.

As Senior UX Designer at Decoder I designed mobile and tablet applications for a variety of clients including IndieShuffle, QueerLink, and FastCab. My role also included jumping over to the visual design, marketing, and ui design side to support our sister agency Uppercut.

Awards and Merits

Best in E-Commerce Solutions – Digital Alberta – June 2013

Volta

Branding, mobile app and web design and logo for Volta. Volta is an iOS app that reduces the feedback-loop of household energy usage with near real-time usage reporting. Led by Levin Dixon, this app was a finalist in the Rockstart Accelerator 2013.

QueerLink

Logo Design, and UX and UI design for Queerlink. The Queerlink app for Queer Media Group Inc. provides a listing of LGBTTQ events across the globe. The app features location-based searches, event bookmarking, and the ability to build a custom event schedule.

Indie Shuffle

UX design for IndieShuffle (UI and visual design by Uppercut agency). Indie Shuffle — a popular San Francisco-based indie music blog — approached us to develop its app because users wanted to listen on the go. We integrated the existing web content into the Android and iOS apps, and added the ability to log in and favorite tracks (which sync across the iPhone, Android, and web versions).

Nourish Organic Marketing Design

Design support for Decoder’s sister agency Uppercut. Visual design for marketing and web graphics for Nourish Organics.
